The football lines offered within Football Online Betting are straight bets (point spread), parlays, teasers, totals, and reverses.

- Straight betting consists of a point spread and an over/under. All of these types of wagers have odds of 11/10 unless otherwise indicated. The player would bet $110 to win $100. The team wagered on must win by the pointspread that was given at the time of the wager. All wagers lay 11 to 10 unless otherwise indicated. Games that tie according to the pointspread are considered a "push." In most cases, depending on the actual sportsbook, there is no action, and the money is refunded. Point spreads may fluctuate at any time. When betting on football lines, the team you bet on must "cover the spread". This means they must win or not lose by a predetermined margin of points. The bottom team is always listed as the home team unless otherwise noted. The point spread is always placed to the immediate right of the team that is favoured. If you bet the Dolphins, the Dolphins must win by 7 points for you to win your bet. If you bet the Jets, any of the following will declare you a winner.

(a) The Jets win the game. (b) The game ends in a tie. (c) The Jets lose the game by not more than 6 points.

If the Dolphins win by exactly 6 points, the wager is declared a push and all money is refunded. Point spreads change constantly. The listed point spread at the time you make your bet may be different than the point spread when the game starts. The point spread that is listed on your ticket is your official spread.

- Football Lines - Parlays and teasers are combination bets, which are offered within all the football betting venues. The more games combined into one single wager, the higher the odds and the bigger the payout. A Parlay is a wager in which two or more bets are combined. All bets within the wager, however, must win in order for the player to collect on his parlay. The concept is appealing to the bettor as the linemaker offers extra dollars for the bettor's skills to pick more than one game correctly at a time. Football Parlays involve more than one team on the same bet. You may combine several teams into one wager. All teams and/or totals must cover the point spread to win the bet. Football lines, odds and the number of teams vary from casino to casino. Any game that results in a push reduces the parlay one team. A two-team parlay would become a straight bet. Parlay Cards offer the potential for huge return while betting as little as two dollars.Teaser bets are similar to parlays in that they are multiple bets combined in the same wager. As with parlays, all individual bets must win in order for the teaser to win. There is, however, one distinct differences from parlays: The bettor is allowed to move the betting line a determined number of points in his favour! Teasers can not be straight bets. "Teasing" the point spread is done adding points to a underdog, or subtracting points from a favorite. This increases the probability of winning your bet, but decreases the odds of the parlay. Odds and the number of points available to "tease" vary from casino to casino.

- Over/Under or Totals concerns the total number of points scored by both teams. The bettor has the option to wager on the "OVER", betting the team will score more than the total number posted by the bookmaker, or the bettor can wager on the "UNDER", hoping that the teams will score less than the number posted by the bookmaker. You may wager that the total score of the game will be more or less than the number listed. It makes no difference which team covers the spread. Simply add the final score of each team. The payout, unless stated otherwise, is figured at odds of 10/11. In some cases, bettors have the option to discard the point spread and bet on which team will win. This is called betting on the "Money Line".

Football Lines -With Money Line Bets the team wagered on just has to win the game. The amount you lay or take for each game may vary. The money line that is read at the time of your wager is the money line you keep regardless of any future line movement. Example The player wagers on Miami -160 at Buffalo +260. If Miami wins then the player would lay $160.00 to win $100.00. If the player bet on Buffalo then the player would lay $100.00 to win $260.00 A "minus" (-) preceding the number indicates the team is a favorite. A "plus" (+) preceding the number indicates the team is an underdog. Example, the Dolphins' odds are -180, meaning an $18 bet would win $10, for a return of $28. The Jets' odds are +160, meaning a $10 bet would win $16, for a return of $26.

Football Lines -Half Time lines are normally set on nationally televised games. At the conclusion of the first half of action, the linemaker sets a betting line on the action for the second half of the game. Essentially, this is just like beginning a new bet. The only score that occurs after Football Half Time is considered when calculating the betting results.

- A Future Wager is a wager on the outcome of events that happen each year. All wagers are final. There are no refunds and no switching of teams at any time. Odds may change daily and all wagers are considered action at the odds quoted at the time of the wager. Future wagers are usually bet on championship finals (i.e. Super B).To bet on football, tell the ticket writer the bet number of the team you wish to bet, with the point spread, and the amount you wish to wager. The payout, unless stated otherwise, is figured at odds of 10/11. This means that a wager of $11 would win $10 and return $21.

Football Lines Sports books offer a number of different cards, each one having different rules. Rules for parlay cards are placed on the back of each card. Read them carefully before wagering. The cards are simple to fill out. Simply darken the boxes, or circles, that apply to the teams you wish to parlay. Then darken the amount you want to bet.

Here’s a FOOTBALL LINES BETTING TIP - If you are certain that the underdog is going to win the game outright, you should always bet the Money-Line. In the example above, a money-line bet of $100 wins you $260 if Buffalo wins, while the same wager made as a straight bet nets only $100 if the Bills win the game.

Remember, on money-line bets, your team must win the game, regardless of the point spread.
